The sensitivity of ultrasonic sensor can only reach a few meters, up to 5 meters. The detection capacity of the front height-limiting system must be at least 50 meters to prevent collision.
Ultrasonic sensor is not effective for all blocking objects, for example, relatively thin railings or non-metal railing, ultrasonic sensor may not be able to detect it.
The ultrasonic sensor's response is relatively slow. It can be used as a reversing sensor during parking because the vehicle speed is slow during parking. If ultrasonic sensor is used as a front height limit detection system, when it detects blocking object, collision may have already happened.
