1.Usage of Marine Airbags

Ship Launching Marine Airbags, also known as roller bags or ship launching rubber balloon, are made of heavy-duty synthetic-tire-cord layers with inner and out rubber layers in long cylindrical balloon shape. Marine Airbags for Ship Launching and Dry Docking for barge can be used for n Brazil, Indonesia Shipyard especially for barges launching, pull to shore, vessels' haul out and ship landing work.

3.Material and constructure of Marine Airbag

Inflatable Marine Airbags are to be constructed of an out rubber layer, multilayer heavy-duty synthetic-tire-cord layers, and an inner rubber layer vulcanized firmly. Ship launching marine airbags are cylindrical balloon body, with two conical head and end mouth. Air tightness swivel and air inlet kits are screwed with end mouth. Refer below picture.

1. Synthetic-tire-cord layer - Reinforcement layer of the ship launching marine
airbags which are made of rubber coated synthetic-tire-cord fabrics. Many synthetic-tire cord layers are twined at ideal angles by unique and patented "Holistic Wrapping Technology". To hold the internal pressure and to distribute the stress evenly. Buoder use the 1870 dtex/2 type synthetic-tire-cord fabric. The warp is over 95 cords per 100 mm in width, and the breaking strength is more than 310N per cord.

2. The outer rubber layer covers the outside of ship launching marine airbags. To protects the cord layers from abrasion and other external forces. This compound has sufficient tensile and tear strength to withstand any weather condition and hard usage.

 

4.Classification of Roller Marine Air Bags

Ship launching marine airbags are categorized by "ordinary airbags", "high-bearing capacity airbags", and "Super-high-bearing capacity airbags" according to the bearing capacity.

• QP Ordinary airbags - the air bag with 3, 4 or 5 layers of cord fabric 
• QG High-bearing capacity airbags - the air bag with 6, 7 or 8 layers of cord fabric
• QS Super-high-bearing capacity airbags - the air bag with 9, 10 or more layers of cord

How to select airbags:

Diameter (D)          : From 0.8m to 3m.
Effective Length (EL) : From 6m to 25m.
Total Length (TL)     : From 7m to 27.5m
 

Standard number of plies (layers)

We define the number of layer, which means the number of Synthetic-tyre-cord layer, in order to confirm the Safety Working Pressure. Normally, Evergreen Ship Launching Airbags include 4~12 layers types. Other types is available upon clients' request.

Length
Select the airbag's effective length not less than the maximum width of vessel or anything you want to move by Ship Launching Airbags . But when you arrange two rows of airbags keep in mind to calculate the total length to avoid contact of airbags in two rows. The total length of airbags can be estimated to be effective length plus diamter. It says anShip Launching Airbag whose effective length is 16 meters and diameter is 1.5 m then its total length is 17.5 m.
 
Diameter
Diameter of Ship Launching Airbags is decided by the height of your vessel's support blocks. If the support block is 1 m high, then you should choose airbag's diamter not less than 1.5 m. If you get 1.5 m high blocks, the airbag with 2m diameters will suits you well.
For air lift use, airbag's diameter or length is mainly decided by the buoyancy you need from airbag. And also consider the pressure of airbag stands if you apply airbags in deep water. 
 

Plies/layer
Ship Launching Airbag's performance is decided by its component plies. For air lift use or light vessel (launch weight below 2000 tons) launch,mid-pressure airbags are enough. For heavy duty work, the high pressure airbag should be selected.
Generally speaking, airbags with 6 plies are enough for most engineering works. Only in some rigorous situation, airbags will need 7-8 plies to enhance its performance. For example, if peole use airbags to lift heavy caisson but their contact area is limited, then airbags will need higher pressure and more plies to ensure the safety.
