A reed switch, also known as a magnetic switch, is a small electrical component that operates based on the principles of magnetism.It consists of two ferromagnetic reeds enclosed within a glass tube, hermetically sealed and filled with inert gas.
When a magnetic field is applied to the switch, the reeds attract each other, completing an electrical circuit.
