Rail Profile Gauge Cum Recorder
Wheel-Rail contact can cause for significant wear and deformation of the rail transverse profile. Knowing the rail wear and shape condition is crucial as it is related to one of the key safety aspects of a Railway. The Rail Profiler is a compact and easy to install high precision optical based measuring device which obtains transverse profile measurements of rails. The Rail Profiler can be fitted to trains, road rail vehicles and trolleys and can be used on various track gauges (standard, narrow or wide gauge).

Usage:
1. Turn the measuring arm counterclockwise until you hear a beeping sound and the box of the external encoder in the picture turns color.
2. Continue to rotate the measuring arm until you hear the second beep sound and the box of the internal encoder also turns green.
3. Keep the measuring arm still until the beeping sound is heard again, and the measurement begins.
4. Move the measuring roller slowly along the rail surface to measure the first half of the rail profile.
5. When the measuring roller cannot continue to move along the edge of the rail, move it back a few millimeters to complete the first half of the measurement.
6. Let the measuring arm droop, grab it again and move the measuring roller backward along the rail surface to measure the other side of the rail.
7. Continue to move and measure along the rail surface. After the above actions are completed, the profile preview will be displayed.
