MODEL :GX ONE WAY CAM CLUTCH
Installation and Usage
1. GXSeries Cam Clutch is Shielded by shield bearings on both ends, packed with a special grease, and are ready for use. No additional lubricant is required.
2. For attaching pulleys, gears or sprockets to the clutches, insert hubs (with f7 tolerance of ISOR773) along the inner surface of the outer race and screw the bolts (high tension) into the tapped holes on the clutch end.
3. Recommended shaft tolerances are shown in the table on the lower left.
4. External thrust load should be supported by other devices, not by the Cam Clutch.
5. Use only a parallel key to secure the clutch to the shaft. Do not use a tapered Key.
6. When mounting the clutch onto the shaft, apply pressure to the inner race but never to the outer race.
7. Ambient temperature range is 5° to 40°C.
8. Key to be used should be in accordance with ISOR773. (DIN 6885.1)

GX-series One-Way Clutches are supplied "ready-to-use," and require no maintenance such as greasing up, cleaning or grease change, offering significant economies of time and labor.
A board operating temperature range
GX series use the high-performance grease developed by NSK. It assures outstanding reliability over an ambient operating temperature range of -20 to +80ºC.
High torque capacity
Wide cams with a larger radius of curvature than conventional models achieve high torque capacity under high loads for improved safety. A unique cam shape allows the GX series to withstand even shock loads without slipping
Long life
NSK's expertise in ball bearing manufacturing technology ensures high dimensional precision of the cams, and inner and outer races, offering long service life. The high-performance grease used to lubricate the GX series also helps minimize the wear on each part and prolong its life.
Easy to use
GX-series One-Way Clutches are supplied as integral systems with all components built in. They are ready to be used "as it is".

Use in Various Applications
OverrunningIn this type of application, the different conditions of engagement and disengagement are repeated arbitrarily, when the Cam Clutch inner and outer races engage each other to transmit torque, and when the Cam Clutch continues overrunning through the difference in rotating speed and direction between the inner and outer races. This is the same behavior as a freewheel on the rear bicycle wheel.
IndexingThis is also referred to as a rotary intermittent feed. Transmits torque to the inner race (shaft) by converting the outer race motion for a certain cycle into intermittent rotary movement. High-frequency engagement and freewheeling are repeated in this application.
BackstoppingIn backstop applications, the Cam Clutch is used to prevent reverse rotation. The Cam Clutch continues freewheeling when the machinery is in operation, and it engages if reverse rotation occurs unexpectedly.
